Cyber Security is the practice of protecting computers, mobile devices, networks, data, and online systems from digital attacks, theft, or damage.

The control unit directs operations inside the CPU by managing the execution of instructions.

Virtualization allows one physical computer to run multiple virtual machines, each with its own OS and applications.

An algorithm is a step-by-step procedure used to solve a problem or perform a task.

• LAN: Local area (school, office). • MAN: Metropolitan area (city). • WAN: Wide area (country, world).

Cache is a small, fast memory located between the CPU and RAM to speed up data access.

Machine learning allows computers to learn from data, identify patterns, and make predictions without being explicitly programmed.

A firewall is a security system that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic, protecting computers from threats.

Normalization is the process of organizing data in a database to reduce redundancy and improve data integrity.

Multitasking allows multiple programs to run at the same time by allocating CPU time to each task efficiently.

A gateway connects different networks and enables data transfer between them.

An IP address is a unique number assigned to every device on a network used for identification and communication.

• SSD: Faster, no moving parts, less power consumption. • HDD: Slower, uses spinning disks, cheaper with larger storage.

Encryption converts data into a coded format to protect it from unauthorized access, ensuring privacy and security.

A 32-bit OS can handle less RAM (up to 4GB) and processes data in 32-bit chunks. A 64-bit OS supports much more RAM and processes data faster with 64-bit chunks.

BIOS (Basic Input Output System) initializes hardware during booting and loads the operating system into memory.

Virtual memory is memory used by the computer when RAM is full. It uses part of the hard disk as temporary RAM to allow more programs to run simultaneously.

System software controls hardware and provides a platform for applications (e.g., Windows, Linux). Application software performs specific tasks (e.g., MS Word, Tally, Photoshop).
